Fatal Accident Crash Team Investigation

Around 10:30am this morning officers responded to S. Church St. and Joe B Jackson Pkwy in reference to a serious crash. One person was taken by ground and one by Life Flight to Vanderbilt with critical injuries. The car was traveling north on Church St. and the semi-truck was turning left from S. Church St. to go south on Church street from Joe B Jackson. Witnesses stated the car ran the red light, striking the tractor-trailer. The fatal accident crash team is investigating the crash and whether alcohol or distracting driving are factors. S Church St. will be partially blocked and traffic redirected for several hours.
