FCM Cares’ Rambo Scholarship Awarded to MTSU Student from Memphis
Middle Tennessee State University recently awarded the FCM Cares’ annual Andrew C. Rambo Memorial Scholarship to Elana L. Mister.
Mister, the daughter of Elaine and Jarvis Mister of Memphis, graduates in May from MTSU with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship. She plans to use the scholarship toward a 12-month MBA program at MTSU as a full-time student.
“I am overjoyed and very blessed to be a recipient of this scholarship,” Mister says. “I would have never expected it but winning this makes me feel like I am truly capable of anything I put my mind to. With this scholarship, I am able to complete my graduate studies with ease of mind and financial freedom.”
She says her plans upon completion of her MBA include starting a business. “I am so happy that I can make my parents and family proud by accomplishing dreams beyond their imaginations,” Mister adds.
“We are proud of Elana and her hard work thus far, and look forward to her not only completing her MBA but realizing her entrepreneurial dreams afterward,” says Keith Canter, Chairman & President of FCM Cares and CEO of First Community Mortgage.
Now in its fifth year, the Andrew C. Rambo Memorial Scholarship was established by FCM Cares Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization. Rambo was board chair of First Community Bank and board member of First Community Mortgage. To learn more about the Rambo Scholarship and FCM Cares, please visit www.FCMCares.org
“Andy Rambo served his community in many ways and cared about giving back to his community,” Canter says. “This is why FCM Cares was proud to create the scholarship in his honor, helping others who also are always wanting to learn and help others. We’re proud to reach this milestone, awarding Andy’s scholarship for the fifth year.”
