Gary Coleman obituary

Gary Coleman, age 84 of Murfreesboro died Sunday May 27, 2018. He was born in Benton County, MS in 1933 and relocated to Savannah TN in 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Dillard Coleman and Alba Whitethorn Coleman, and a sister Bama Gail Coleman Bingham.

Mr. Coleman was member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was a 1952 graduate of Hardin County Central High School. He was a 1965 graduate of University of Tennessee with a BSEE. Mr. Coleman was a veteran of the United States Army, and retired from General Electric in Fort Wayne Indiana in 1998 after 33 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, antiquing, working with stained glass, reading and carpentry.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Moyers Coleman; daughter, Celene Alees Coleman of Murfreesboro; brothers, Bayward Gene Coleman of Savannah, Larry Dillard Coleman of Savannah; sisters, Joyce Autherine Coleman Brady of Memphis, Nelwyn Maybelline Coleman of Memphis, Gloria Ann Coleman Ferrell of Memphis.

Visitation will be 12PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be at 1PM Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors, Pastor Anthony Williams will officate. www.woodfinchapel.com
