“Good Neighbors” Helping their Neighbors

Seven local State Farm agents – Dana Womack, Andy Womack, David Wilson, Jeannie Almon, Bud Morris, Trevor Haggard and Monte King – demonstrated what it means to be good neighbors by donating $3,150 to the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties’ “Stuff the Bus” school supplies drive. Stuff the Bus is the United Way’s annual initiative to support children with school supplies in K through 5th grade in Rutherford and Cannon counties.

State Farm has been a Presenting Sponsor of Stuff the Bus at the $5,000 level for the past three years. With the agents contribution, the total financial contribution from State Farm reached $8,150 this year. In addition, State Farm employees were encouraged to purchase school supplies virtually for Stuff the Bus.

“Being a ‘Good Neighbor’ isn’t just a slogan or a catchphrase, it’s a way of life,” said Dana Womack. “We believe education is critical for healthy, vibrant communities. The coming school year will be more important than ever. My fellow State Farm agents and I are happy to help our community through this difficult time.”

“This year, more than ever, we needed help. By participating in Stuff the Bus, State Farm did more than provide money for supplies, they made sure that our most at-risk kids have everything they need to start the school year off ready to learn,” said Amy Painter, Director of Marketing and Communication for the United Way.
