Information needed on Aggravated Robbery/Kidnapping

The Murfreesboro Police Department responded to a call of a subject knocking on doors stating
he had been robbed in the 1100 block of Mahogany Trail around 5:30.a.m.this morning. Officers
enroute to the call encountered another subject needing medical attention on Gold Valley Drive.
Another call from a person at a nearby business reporting being robbed in the area quickly
followed.

The investigation into the three calls revealed them to be one related situation. The two robbery
victims had arrived at a home on Cayuga Trail for one to meet with a female. Upon their arrival
the passenger went to the back door of the home and the driver remained in the truck. The
passenger found no one to be available at the back door and began to return to the truck when
he saw the 2 suspects appearing to rob the driver.

The victim in the truck reported the suspect in the cab of the truck told the driver to give him
everything he had and to drive away while the second suspect jumped into the bed of truck.
As they began traveling a car backing from a driveway caused the vehicle to stop. The suspect
exited the cab and went after the original passenger, who had followed the truck on foot in an
attempt to help his friend, attacking and robbing him. The suspect in the bed of the truck was
thrown from the moving vehicle and was the injured subject found on Gold Valley Drive by
responding officers.

The victim located on Mahogany Trail and the suspect found on Gold Valley Drive were both
transported to St. Thomas Rutherford for medical treatment. The female was taken into custody
once her connection to one of the suspects (Kano) was established.

Arrested in the situation are Joniah Kano, B/M, 10-8-1996 charged with aggravated robbery x 2,
carjacking, kidnapping and theft under $1000 x 2 and Miranda Cohen, W/F, 04-08-1997 charged
