Interview With Pop Artist and MTSU Graduate, Connor Bishop, on New Single “One More Minute”

Congratulations on your fantastic new single, “One More Minute.” How long did it take you to write the song and come up with the title.

I actually worked with some publishers on finding this song and when I heard it for the first time, I felt the groove just stick out to me and I knew I had to record “One More Minute.”

Once you wrote it did you think, this is it, this is what I want to release next?

This song was a little different from what I was used to working on musically, so getting to record it was very fun and I was able to challenge myself with a different style. When it was finished I was definitely ready to let everyone hear it.

How did you make the decision to pursue music professionally?

It’s always been my biggest passion throughout my whole life; so making the decision to pursue music professionally was not a very hard decision for me.

How was it working with Robert De La Garza? Want did you learn from him that you will take with you down the road?

Working with Robert definitely taught me a lot, he gave me a glimpse inside the music industry that without him I would not have been able to see. I gained an understanding of what all goes into the making of an album or EP. Working with him has given me the confidence and knowledge to move forward in my career and know what to ask for and what to expect when working with other professional musicians.

Do you have any dream collaborations?

There are so many people I would love to collaborate with, but if I had to narrow it down to two artists, it would definitely be Brandi Carlile and Sara Bareilles. I feel like their music is so emotional and real that I am completely consumed by every song they put out. So it would definitely be a dream to work with either of them.

You don’t have tour dates announced yet, but do you see touring as part of your future plans in addition to the new music?

Yes, I definitely am looking to start playing around Nashville very soon and eventually branching out to different cities and states. As for new music, I am always working on making better music and just trying to be creative in everything that I do.

So you are a graduate of  Middle Tennessee State University (Go Blue Raiders)! What was your college experience like? What do you miss the most?

I feel like I had your regular college experience, but what I loved most about college was getting to meet so many different people from all over the world. So I guess what I miss the most would be meeting new people on a regular basis and being surrounded by people who are all working to achieve their dreams.

Did you have any favorite places to go in Murfreesboro, TN?

My favorite place to go in the Boro would have to be Nachos the Mexican restaurant. Anytime I’m back in town and have a little extra time I make sure I stop by.

Finally what two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most?

I really like listening to radio stations that have a huge variety of music my two favorites would have to be Mix 92.9 and The Blend on SiriusXM
