James Cawthon, Jr. obituary

James Cawthon, Jr. age 82 of Murfreesboro died Tuesday July 31, 2018. He was a native of Rutherford Co and was the son of the late James L. Cawthon, Sr. and Nannie Lyons Cawthon. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Cawthon; brothers, Burton Cawthon,Frank Cawthon, W.G. Cawthon, Wayne Cawthon; sisters, Sarah Hopkins, Vera Low and Mattie Grace Hunt. Mr. Cawthon was a member of Milton Baptist Church and retired from Samsonite in Murfreesboro.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Lowery Cawthon; daughter, Renee Ownby of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jessica Wisdom and husband Jason of Murfreesboro, Billy Joe Miller and wife Kelly of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren, Autumn Jacob Wisdom, Alexander Miller, Nicky Adams; sister Mary Goad of Illinois.

Visitation will be 4PM-8PM Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 11AM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Nathan Hale off acting. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. www.woodfinchapel.com
