James “Jim” Edward McKee obituary

James “Jim” Edward McKee, age 73, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on August 13, 2021. He lived his whole life on his family farm in Milton, TN. He was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church at Milton. He attended elementary school at Milton and Lascassas and graduated from Central High in Murfreesboro. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served much of his time in Germany. He was a truck owner/operator, independent trucker, and finished his career as a dispatcher.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Thomas McKee and Martha Lewis McKee and his brother, Thomas Lewis McKee. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley Molder McKee, son, Chad Edward McKee and wife, Julie; daughter, Heather McKee Goodman and husband, John; sister, Martha Jo McKee and husband, Hassan Al-Ansari; brother, Lee Knox McKee and his wife, Sandra; and grandchildren, Dalton McKee, Grace Goodman, Annabelle Goodman, Jack Goodman, Knox Goodman, and Chaden McKee.

Visitation will be at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro on Monday, August 16, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the chapel service at 2:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Brad Warren and Jim will be eulogized by his cousin, Ralph McKee. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Jim’s grandchildren and his friends, Jimmy Mott and Brian Jones will serve as active pallbearers with Billy David Vaught and Steve McNabb serving as honorary pallbearers.
