Jean Smith Watts obituary

Jean Smith Watts, age 94 of Readyville, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, June 17, 2021. A native of Sylacauga, AL, she was the daughter of the late William Tolbert and Mary Malinda Glazener Smith. Mrs. Watts was also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years George Howard Watts who died in 2010, a son, Paul Keith Watts who died in 2019, and a brother, Ralph Walls.

Mrs. Watts is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Steve and Margarita Watts, David and Conchita Watts, and Tim and Beth Watts of Readyville, TN, Mark and Joan Watts and Barry and Karen Watts of Murfreesboro, TN, and Janet Watts of Marrero, LA; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, June 28, 2021, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.

Mrs. Watts was a faithful member of Hillview Church of Christ and a devoted housewife and homemaker. She loved being outside especially when she tended the yard and her flowers. Mrs. Watts continually encouraged her family and others to live in such a way to make heaven their eternal home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
