Joint Investigation Results in Arrests
Working in conjunction with the Shelbyville Police Department, the Murfreesboro Police Special Investigations Division recently investigated complaints of possible prostitution at local massage businesses. The local investigation resuled after the Shelbyville Police Department became aware of a connection between Relief Massage at 1731 North Main Street, Suite F, in their city and Balance Day Spa located at 132 St. Andrews Drive, Suite E, in Murfreesboro. The investigation resulted in the execution of simultaneous search warrants at both locations on November 21, 2017.
The investigation and the subsequest execution of search warrants resulted in three arrests, one outstanding warrant and the seizure of over $10,000 in cash and a Lexus vehicle.
Arrested in Murfreesboro was Sana Zhang, who was charged with six counts of Impersonation of a Licensed Professional and Massage of Erogenous Areas. Over $7,000 in cash and a 2014 Lexus vehicle were seized from this location. She is currently incarcerated at the Rutherford
County Sheriff’s Department under $34,500 bond.
Arrested in Shelbyville were of Baomei Zhao. Charged with multiple counts of Impersonation of a Licensed Professional and Massage of Erogenous Areas (released on $60,000 bond) and Ying Chen, charged with Criminal Responsibility for the Conduct of Another (released on $30,000 bond). Chen was also connected to the Murfreesboro business. Monies totaling $1,028 was seized at the Shelbyville business and an additional $2,445 was seized from a bank account registered to the business.
