La Vergne Police Department to Host Popular ‘Cops and Bobbers’ Fishing Event

Cops and Bobbers

The popular ‘Cobs and Bobbers’ fishing event hosted by the La Vergne Police Department is back for its second year. The spring date is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

The bank fishing event will once again be at Hurricane Creek boat Ramp. Officers will provide everything kids need to know how to fish, including hooks, bait, and fishing rods. Officers will be matched with pre-registered kids from the community to teach them the basics of casting, baiting a line, and reeling in a catch.

Participants must be 13 years of age or younger. No fishing license for participants is required. A waiver of liability for each participant will need to be signed by a parent or guardian the day of the event.

This is a registration-only event and walk-ups are not encouraged. Participants cannot have participated in previous ‘Cops and Bobbers’ events to allow for new kids to learn how to fish.
