Lester Levi Obituary
Lester Wright Levi, age 93 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, August 6, 2022, at The Residence at Alive Hospice, Nashville. He was a native of Soddy, Tennessee and a son of the late Lester and Ora Wright Levi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Jane Levi Houston, a son, Lester W. Levi, Jr. and a brother, Sid Levi.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Levi; children, Cindy Spratley (Al), Chuck Levi (Cathy); stepchildren, Kim Ouimet (Eric), Debbie Dorris, and Harvey Vandiver; a brother, Mike Levi (Janice) of Murfreesboro; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other loving family and friends.
Mr. Levi was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and taught mathematics at MTSU, retiring with over 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, and canoeing. An avid reader and seeker of knowledge, he was also a teacher at heart. Whether it was the many people he taught swimming lessons, his students at MTSU, or thru his ministry as an ordained minister in Baptist Churches.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, August 12, 2022, from 3:00pm until the time of a memorial service beginning at 5:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Pam Pilote officiating.
