Lida Hiser obituary

Lida Reynolds Hiser, age 87 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, died Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Murfreesboro. Per her wishes, no memorial service will be held and her cremated remains will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery alongside her late husband, Frederick Hiser, Jr. who died in 1997. She was born in Downs, Illinois, a daughter of the late Pearl T. and Maudie Reynolds. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded by two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include children, Linda Jenkins and husband Walter of Murfreesboro, Shirley Seput and husband Gary of Burlingame, CA., Delmar Shoemaker, Jr. of Murfreesboro and Joseph Hiser and wife Elizabeth of Batesville, AR; grandchildren, Lisa Taylor, Amber Jordan and husband Buddy, and Benton Overall and wife Katie; great grandchildren, Virginia and Zachary Jordan, Addison Overall; sisters, Margaret Powell, Marilyn Gillespie and Mary Davis; and a brother, Tepe Reynolds and wife Edie.

Prior to moving to Murfreesboro in 2013, Lida was a registered nurse and served as Director of Nursing at Garden Park Hospital at Garden Park Hospital in Gulfport, MS, Northwest Alabama Medical Center in Hamilton, AL, and Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, FL. After retiring, she worked part time in behavioral health at the University of Florida Medical Center in Gainesville, FL.
