LPD Hosts Inaugural ‘Cops and Bobbers’ Fishing Event

The La Vergne Police Department is excited to host its inaugural ‘Cops and Bobbers’ fishing event on Saturday, April 23.

The bank fishing event will be held at the Hurricane Creek Boat Ramp and officers are providing everything kids need to learn how to fish, including hooks, bait, and fishing rods. Officers will be matched up with pre-registered kids from the community to teach them fishing basics like casting and baiting a line. This is a registration-only event and walk-ups are not encouraged.

“We’re always looking for ways to get more involved with our community and this is a great opportunity to interact in a unique way and enjoy the fresh air and good weather at the same time,” said Sgt. Sheree Robertson.

The media is welcome and encouraged to attend. The event begins at 8:00 a.m. at the La Vergne Hurricane Creek Recreation Area on Stones River Road.
