Mary Sue Campbell McCrary obituary

Mary Sue Campbell McCrary, age 96 of Murfreesboro, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday June 16, 2018. A native of the Salem Community, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland “Cleve” Barrett and Birder Smotherman Barrett. Mrs. McCrary was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Albert “Tuck” Campbell and her second husband, Earl McCrary, a son, Billy Ray Campbell, a brother, Joe Barrett, and sisters, Ruby Faulkner and Cornelia Cawthon.

Mrs. McCrary is survived by her sons, Winfred “ Soupy” Campbell and Betty Welker of Lascassas, TN, and Earl Campbell and wife Mildred of the Trimble Community; daughter, Bertha Sue Trail of Murfreesboro, TN; step-daughter, Linda Brown of Lascassas, TN; sisters, Ophelia Merritt and Louise Parker both of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Jimmy Campbell and wife Cheryl, Kenny Campbell and wife Christa, Stevie Campbell and wife Kyle, Robert Trail and wife Stephanie, Kristy Carter and husband Dwight, Marion Campbell, Jody Campbell and wife Jenny and Jesse Ray Campbell; step-grandchildren, Ernie Brown, Melinda “Mo” Black, Becky Fults, and Nancy Welch; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Bro. Nickey Nichols and Bro. Oran Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with grandsons, grandson-in-law, and Willie Davenport serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. McCrary was retired from General Electric and worshiped at East Main Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful grandmother, and was passionate with gardening and stamp collecting. Mrs. McCrary loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to dig in the dirt, sun sets, sun rises, the ocean and rainbows. Mrs. McCrary loved humming birds, butterflies, and everything that God created.
