MFRD Responds to Fire at Blackman Middle School Wrestling Building

Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department’s District 1, District 9, Engines 4 and 10 responded to a fire in the wrestling building at Blackman Middle School just before 10 p.m. on Sunday Night.

When crews arrived, they found that a detached metal building located behind the school had heavy black smoke. There was little fire remaining and according to Battalion Chief Swann, the building  suffered extension damage. The building was used to hold wrestling equipment for the school.  

The cause is unknown at this time, but the Fire Marshal’s Office is on scene conducting an investigation.
