Missing Kayaker Located in Percy Priest Lake
A missing kayaker has been recovered from Percy Priest Lake in La Vergne.
Witnesses called 911 at 12:30 p.m. after seeing the kayaker’s boat overturn in the lake. One off duty La Vergne firefighter who was in the Hurricane Creek Boat Ramp area attempted to rescue the man. A responding La Vergne officer also attempted to rescue the man when he arrived on scene.
The victim was identified as Alexander Jimenez.
The recovery operation was a joint effort between La Vergne Fire Rescue, La Vergne Police, Rutherford County Fire Rescue, and the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency.
