MPD is scheduled for on-site accreditation assessment administered by CALEA

The Murfreesboro Police Department is scheduled for an accreditation on-site assessment administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) March 9, 2026, through March 11, 2026.

The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with nationally accepted standards that promote best practices in law enforcement. CALEA standards are categorized into four primary areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the assessment, community members and employees are invited to offer comments by visiting the Accreditation Public Comment Portal, which can be found on the Murfreesboro Police Department website. The purpose of this public portal is to provide an opportunity to submit comments, commendations, and other information regarding the department’s quality of service or other information relevant to the accreditation process directly to CALEA.
