MPD promotes three officers to sergeant

Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) Chief Michael Bowen announces the promotion of three officers to the rank of sergeant at a ceremony on Friday, Jan. 28.

Sergeant Megan Manus has been with MPD since January 2013. Manus has worked as a patrol officer and part of the Murfreesboro Police Alcohol Countermeasures Team (MPACT) before being promoted to sergeant.

Sergeant Chris Williams began his career with the department in March 2011. He has served as a patrol officer, member of the Community Oriented Policing Service (COPS), and school resource officer before being promoted to sergeant.

Sergeant Jacob Fountain started as a patrol officer in October 2009. Fountain served as a patrol officer, Field Training Officer (FTO), Directed Patrol, and detective before being promoted to sergeant.

“We look forward to these individuals serving in their new roles,” said Chief Michael Bowen. “We are proud of their accomplishments.”

A promotion ceremony for the new sergeants took place at MPD Headquarters Fri. afternoon.
