MTSU Students Learn Real Life Budgeting Through “Game of Life” Event

April is Financial Literacy Month, and students at Middle Tennessee State University are getting a hands-on lesson in managing money after graduation.

In this video, we take a look at the “Game of Life” event, where students simulate real-world financial decisions like budgeting their future income, planning for expenses, and navigating different stages of life. Hosted by MT One Stop and supported by Ascend Credit Union, the event walks students through practical money management skills step by step.

Participants also learn about available resources like financial counseling, debt management planning, and goal setting to help them build a strong financial future. Organizers emphasize the importance of understanding that financial decisions made today can have a lasting impact well beyond college.

This interactive experience highlights how planning ahead and making informed choices can make all the difference after graduation.
