Murfreesboro Joins National Night Out Against Crime
The Murfreesboro Police Department, along with Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department will host National Night Out Against Crime Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Activities will be held at Patterson Park Community Center, 521 Mercury Blvd., from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
National Night Out is an opportunity for residents to meet their neighbors, law enforcement officers, and other community service providers in an informal setting with the goal of increasing communication about crime prevention.

- WHERE: Patterson Park Community Center, 521 Mercury Blvd. (Soon to be Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd)National Night Out Against Crime is a national crime prevention event designed to heighten crime prevention awareness and build relationships between residents and police officers.
Mothers Over Murder (MOM) is a community action grief support group that supports parents and families that have lost their youth to senseless acts of violence. These Mothers work to support parents to navigate the healing journey and the court process as well as work in the community to reduce violence. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions.
“It is our belief that we can cultivate the community by instilling value into our children and reinvigorating the village mindset into our neighborhoods that we are here for each other,” said MOM member Rafiah Muhammad – McCormick. This is the 23rd year the City has participated in the program.
