Murfreesboro police searching for the shooter and accomplices in connection to weekend shooting
Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division Violent Crimes Unit detectives are actively searching for the gunman and other individuals connected to a weekend shooting that critically injured two victims. Detectives urge the community to assist with locating those responsible.
Officers responded to a shots fired call at the Clarion Inn on Old Fort Pkwy on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 11:11 p.m.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a man and a woman were shot after a gunmen fired multiple rounds into the rear of the victims’ car. As the victims attempted to escape, their vehicle struck a retaining wall and came to rest in the front parking lot. It is believed that the group of individuals may have followed the victims into the hotel parking area before the shooting took place.
MPD officers immediately began first aid until personnel with the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services arrived and took over medical care. Both victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The shooter fled the scene in a car with several other people and their whereabouts remain unknown.
