Guests can expect celebrations of all kinds to be taking place around the Zoo during the festival. Visitors can enjoy a puppet show from the Nashville Public Library and cultural dance lessons in the morning and afternoon on the Zoo’s Festival Field. At 1 pm and 2 pm (en Español), stop by the amphitheater for animal shows and watch the Zoo’s ambassador animals demonstrate their natural abilities. Special interpretation stations will be set up around the Zoo from 10 am to 2 pm for guests to learn more about some of their favorite Zoo animals. In addition to all the activities taking place, special themed concessions will be offered throughout the day including empanadas, chicharrónes, horchata, tacos, margaritas and more.
“We are continually working to ensure that Nashville Zoo is accessible and inclusive to all members of our community. In 2022, the first-ever Zoo hosted Hispanic Heritage Festival was one of our most attended daytime events. This impressive turnout showed that there is an exceptional interest from the Nashville community in this type of event,” said Nashville Zoo’s Education Director Roger Torbert. “With the significant involvement of our longtime partners at Conexion Americas, we are able to share some amazing aspects of Hispanic culture and educate guests on conservation issues impacting Central and South America.”
This festival is included with general Nashville Zoo admission or membership. Please note that advance timed-entry reservations will be required for all guests including members. Learn more about time-entry and member reservations here.
Hispanic Heritage Festival, presented by Twice Daily was created in partnership with Conexion Americas and is supported by Amazon, AAA and Solomon Builders. For more information and to view the festival schedule, visit www.nashvillezoo.org.
