Nicholas G. Manyo IV obituary

Nicholas G. Manyo IV was born December 24, 1991 to Nicholas G. Manyo III and Susanne Gibson in Conneaut, Ohio and departed this life on February 15, 2022 due to complications from the effects of COVID 19. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Carol E. Metcalf, paternal grandmother Phyllis A. Manyo, paternal grandfather Nicholas G. Manyo II and paternal uncles Dennis G. Manyo and Michael D. Manyo.

Before graduating from Blackman High School in 2010, Nick spent three weeks traveling France, Monaco, Italy, Sicily and Malta through the People to People organization as travel never left his heart. Nick was also attending Full Sail University in pursuit of a degree in Graphic & Media Design with intent to advance at his longtime employer, Nissan North America. Nick was also an Eagle Scout Class of 2009 and went on to serve in the inaugural Venture Scouts Troop 193; he served several years as a First Aid Merit Badge trainer which allowed him to secure his first job as a YMCA lifeguard and earned his Order of the Arrow designation which recognizes Scouts who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. For his Eagle project “Animals 4 Lil’ Angels”, Nick collected over 4,000 stuff animals to distribute among hospitals, Fire & Rescue and Police, regional missions and various local charities. When Nick would bring his animals to kids, he would ask each child chose their favorite friend, citing that “bad things may happen, but everyone needs a friend to get them through.” Nick was that friend.

Nick was truly always social, the near-center of attention and the life of any party. Charismatic, engaging and funny, Nick was a genuine conversationalist that never met a stranger, was always willing to help, cared deeply for his family and friends and worked at being present in his relationships – those most important to him with friends, social groups, family and through work. When possible, Nick enjoyed spending time with his fiancée Amy and her family, gaming, spending time with his brother, golfing, visiting family in Ohio, fun days at Cedar Point, working on cars and driving his beloved BMW or his signature red truck. He also looked forward to annual trips to the Georgia mountains with friends to show cars and network amongst a trusted group of auto club friends that he so enjoyed.

Nick was baptized at the Church of the Atonement in St. Louis, Missouri and accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He often led prayer for his Boy Scout troop, Young Life group, or at the family table with his parents and brother, praying for happiness to those around him in that they would fully realize the blessing of the meal and the time spent together. Nick chose not to attend church just to, as he explained “be in the building”, but rather open his heart to the Lord in a way that worked best for him.

Nick is survived by parents George and Susanne Gibson, brother Trenton Gibson, father Nicholas G. Manyo III, aunts Janet (Jeff) Maille and Renee (John) Fusco, cousins Samuel Maille, Tori Maille, Stephanie Fusco, Michael Fusco, Joseph Fusco, Anthony Fusco, and A.J. Ford as well as extended aunts, uncles and cousins in Ohio and Florida. Nick is also survived by his beloved fiancée Amy Allbritten, future in-laws David and Lisa Allbritten as well as close friends Oren (Mary) Haas, Dyllan (Autumn) Miller, Irvin Oten, Robbie Dietrich and Riley (Amanda) Malone. Nick is also survived by his beloved dogs, Carmela and Remi.
