Nonprofit hosting inaugural Nashville Splash Bash on May 27
Help celebrate Nashville’s own “fishable” and “swimmable” river by attending
the inaugural Nashville Splash Blast hosted by the Cumberland River Compact, with live music
courtesy of WMOT Roots Radio 89.5 FM.
Head on down to the East Bank landing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 27, to kick off
the summer right with riverside yoga, stand-up paddle boarding lessons, food and beverage
vendors, and live music courtesy of WMOT Roots Radio.
This event is free to the public and family friendly. Bring your floats, sunscreen, chairs, picnic
blankets and favorite suit.
Cumberland River Compact, in collaboration with Nashville Paddle Co., Cumberland Kayak
Adventures, River Queen Voyages, and Pontoon Saloon, will provide equipment rentals and
tours down the river. Visit the websites for both Cumberland Kayak and River Queen to book
your tour.
Infinity Hospitality Group will run a Cantina and Bar at The Bridge Building and food will also
be available to purchase from The Generally Southern Mobile Kitchen. A little bird says that
good BBQ will be available on-site.
Music City Roots will host live music from local Roots artists on the riverbank to keep the
party hopping.
The Cumberland River Compact (https://cumberlandrivercompact.org) is a nonprofit
organization that promotes the love of water through education, arts and recreation. Their
belief that we can obtain a strong economy and a healthy environment with collaboration and
action is supported by businesses, members, community organizations and agencies who work
in the Cumberland River watershed also known as “the boot.” They ensure the rivers and
streams continuously provide clean water, healthy fish, generous crops and recreational
activities for the public.
