Murfreesboro Police Respond to Several Crashes Due to Slick Roads

MPD officers have been a little busy today responding to several property damage crashes because of slick roads. A driver slid into a light pole on Penny Lane at 8 a.m. He was not injury.

The main streets in the city are passable, thanks to the street department prepping roads, spreading salt and plowing. Most of the neighborhood streets are ice covered.

At 8 a.m., the temperature was 1-degree, so many of the passable roads have black ice in spots.

Officers also want to remind drivers to clean their entire windshield and side windows so they can see properly.

Please slow down to five to 10 MPH, leave enough stopping room and most importantly drive with caution.
