RCEMS Employee Goes Above and Beyond to Care for Child

RCEMS and Rutherford County would like to share with everyone a letter sent by a mother praising a RCEMS employee for go going above and beyond when caring for her child.

“I’m writing this today to tell you about the wonderful experience we had with one of your medics. My eleven-year-old son had a psychotic episode on Saturday night. We were transported by ambulance to St. Thomas Rutherford and were lucky enough to have Kristina Yovino as our supportive medic. A situation like that is never easy on anyone and I’m thankful that she was there to guide us in the right direction. She was patient, kind and caring. We were in the hallway in the ER for a while because there were no rooms available. Every time the paramedics would enter, my son would perk up and look for her. She went above and beyond. She even came and checked on him at the end of her shift and it meant so much to me and my son to know that someone cares. In a time like this, it feels like you are alone and it’s people like Kristina that make the world a better place. Please send a special thanks to Kristina from my son and I.”

Letters like these are few and far between, but it truly is special for our medics to receive feedback like this from a satisfied customer.
