Registration for The Middle Half Marathon now open

Registration is now open for the 15th Annual Murfreesboro Half Marathon – The Middle Half set for October 9, 2021.

Did you know that MTSU Alums Melinda and Miles Tate (’84) along with daughter Natalie (’05) started this race? Did you know that proceeds from this race fund two scholarships here at MTSU? The students who benefit from these two scholarships must be at least Juniors. Scholarship funding for Juniors and Seniors is critical as fewer funds are available for upper level students.

The Tate Family, along with the Murfreesboro Half Marathon Board, wanted to make an impact on MTSU students in “The Middle Half” of their academic career as much as MTSU has made an impact on all of them. MTSU has been a partner with The Middle Half since its inception, hosting the start and finish of many races, student groups and departmental offices participate as cheer squads along the race course, and many students, alumni, faculty and staff have participated in this race since the beginning. Part of the race is even run on the beautiful MTSU campus. This is a great community event!

Since registration is limited to 1500 runners we wanted to let our alumni know that registration has opened and spots are available. The course has you running down tree-lined Main Street to Maney Avenue and the historic Oaklands Historic House Museum. Circle the Downtown Square, through the heart of the MTSU campus, then finish and party on the square.

The race is Saturday, October 9. You can register at www.themiddlehalf.com.

Happy running and thanks for your support of MTSU scholarships!
