Residents Encouraged to Submit Questions for Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters will be hosting two candidate forums ahead of this year’s election and is asking for residents to become part of the process by submitting questions.

There are two dates for the candidate forums this year. The forum for aldermen candidates will be on October 18 at 6:00 p.m. and the forum for mayoral candidates will be on October 19 at 6:00 p.m. Both candidate forums will be held at the La Vergne City Hall boardroom. The candidate forums will be aired live on the City’s YouTube account and on Channel 3.

The deadline to submit questions is September 30. Residents interested in submitting questions can do so by using the following links.

While the League of Women Voters will review all the submitted questions, they will not be able to ask all of the submitted questions. Residents are asked to include their contact information for the League of Women Voters in case they have follow-up questions about submissions.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 8. The deadline to register to vote is October 11. Go to govotetn.gov to register to vote. Sample ballots are available at election.rutherfordcountytn.gov. Early voting will be from October 19 through November 3. The La Vergne Multipurpose Building at 5093 Murfreesboro Road will once again serve as an early voting location.
