Robert Chilton obituary

Robert Anthony Chilton of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed, from this life peacefully in his sleep at the age of ninety-four at his residence at the Stones River Manor. Robert is a son of the late Francis and Mary Chilton of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Survivors include his daughter, Muriel Chilton Miller and husband Victor, and twin daughters Sheila Chilton Ring and husband Richard and Kaylea Chilton Mangrum and husband Donnie; his grandchildren, Rodney Gwatney, John Mangrum, Karrie Peterson Price, Paul Peterson, Lea Mangrum Bartch, Hailee Ring Truelove and Phillip Mangrum; great-grandchildren, Julea Bartch, Dallas Truelove, Bowen Truelove, Emma Bartch, Tucker Bartch, Chloe Truelove, Audrey Mangrum, Pierce Whitley Mangrum, Andrew Mangrum, Derek Gwatney, Ashley Gwatney, Kayleigh Gwatney, Austin Gwatney, Tray Gwatney, Payton Peterson and Seth Peterson.

He has now joined his wife Maxine and grandson, Patrick Chilton Ring, in heaven until we meet again. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away…precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of HIS saints." [Rev. 21:4; Psalm 116:15]

He will be laid to rest at Browns Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, MO alongside his wife of 71 years, Maxine Pierce Chilton at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Graveside services are under the direction of Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
