Ronald “Ronnie” Nelson Rich obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” Nelson Rich, age 52 of Nashville, passed away on August 28, 2019. He was known for his expertise in the HVAC business, working for his father’s company for 25 years, as well as Dale Supply Co., Trane, and the Bill Voorhees Co.

As a young man he enjoyed motorcycles, playing the guitar, and water skiing. Being an avid cook, his love for food was unparalleled. In his leisure he also enjoyed golfing, cinema, and music. More than anything, he loved his three children and granddaughter. He was the kind of person whose energy was fueled by the laughter of others. He loved to tell jokes; his sense of humor was, at times crass, but always charming. He was a devout Christian and longtime member of LaVergne First Baptist Church.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Ann Hunter; maternal grandmother, Hattie Mae Hooper; paternal grandparents Bertha and Haywood Rich; brother, Stanley Kester; and son, Ronald Ryan Rich.

Ronald is survived by two of his children Raechel Rich Cervantes and Joshua J. Rich; parents, Donald and Judy Rich; his brothers and sisters Gina and Todd Golden, Robin and Mike Phetteplace; the mother of his children, Cynthia Sanders Williams; his granddaughter, Jacquelyn Cervantes; along with many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, September 2, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, Tennessee. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery and an online guestbook is available for the Rich family at www.woodfinchapel.com.
