#RutherfordCountyStrong Campaign

“Rutherford County is strong and our citizens are even stronger.” You’ve heard that phrase many times over the last few months of this unprecedented health situation. You’ve heard it because it’s true.

Our community members have stepped up to slow the spread of the virus, our Mayors within the County formed an experienced and dedicated task force to lead our efforts in this COVID-19 fight, public safety agencies and healthcare facilities in all jurisdictions are sharing resources, communities are finding very creative ways to support our local businesses when they need it most, and that’s just scratching the surface.

We are experiencing difficult and uncertain times. High school seniors are losing out on many milestones in their last year of school, gathering with our friends has been postponed, attending church services in person is not allowed, family travel is on hold. All of the things that we enjoy doing seem to have been cancelled, but life is not cancelled and kindness is certainly not cancelled; we are seeing that every day in our communities.

That’s why we—Rutherford County, Murfreesboro, Smyrna, La Vergne, and Eagleville—have created the hashtag #RutherfordCountyStrong. We want to share with you some of the ways that our agencies exemplify this message, but we also want you to feel free to use this hashtag in your posts. If you’re supporting a local restaurant by getting takeout, tag #RutherfordCountyStrong, if you’re buying a gift card from one of the merchants downtown because you want to help, tag #RutherfordCountyStrong, if you have a message of upliftment and encouragement for your neighbors, tag #RutherfordCountyStrong.

Let’s use this movement to spread the positive things going on in our community, while we limit the spread of the virus.

Rutherford County, we will get through this and we will do it together. We will win the battle. We are #RutherfordCountyStrong.
