Saint Thomas Health Names Tony Heard As Board of Directors Chairman

 Saint Thomas Health, part of Ascension, is pleased to announce Tony Heard as the new chairman of the Saint Thomas Health board of directors. Heard joined the Saint Thomas Health Board in 2011 serving as the finance committee chair.

Heard is one of the founders of the Center for Medical Interoperability, a 501(c)(3) cooperative research and development lab founded by health systems including Ascension and Saint Thomas Health.

“For more than a decade, Tony has proven himself to be a committed servant leader of Saint Thomas Health,” said Karen Springer, President and CEO of Saint Thomas Health and Senior Vice President of Ascension Healthcare, a division of Ascension.  “We are confident he will continue to utilize his experience and expertise to fulfill our mission.”

Heard previously served on the Saint Thomas Foundation board of directors for ten years, including two years as chairman. Additionally, he currently serves on the boards of United Way and The Rotary Club of Nashville.
