Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital hosted Topping Out Ceremony for new facility

Saint Thomas Rutherford hosted a topping out ceremony to celebrate construction of the highest point of its vertical expansion at their Medical Center Parkway campus. The celebration included representatives of the hospital board, Foundation board and management team.

The beam that marks the highest point of Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital was placed on February 26, 2019, painted white and signed by those present before being hoisted to the top of the building. Three additional floors and 72 beds are being added to the west patient tower of the hospital, which totals an additional 60,000 square feet.

“When we opened the doors to this hospital in 2010, we could not imagine that just 8 short years later, we would need to expand to keep up with the growth of this area It’s been an honor to witness the ways that Murfreesboro has developed and for Saint Thomas to be a partner to the community alongside this journey.” said Gordon Ferguson, Chief Executive Officer, Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

The expansion project is due to be completed in the summer of 2020.
