The Sam Youree Spar Wars Scholarship Fund

Junior students at the Bushido School of Karate have been participating in the Spar Wars tournament circuit since Sept. 2018. Now a scholarship fund for private or college education has been established. This scholarship program is being set up in honor of Sam Youree. Sam Youree was a fighter! He participated in both point karate tournaments throughout the southeast, as well as full contact competition. He was a trainer for some of the top kickboxers in the middle TN area. He also waged a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer and will be remembered as the toughest fighter the Bushido School of Karate has ever produced. We want to honor young people also demonstrating Bushido, the “Way of the Warrior!”, by awarding the Sam Youree Spar Wars Scholarship. The young person or persons who accumulate the most points through their tournament competition, will be awarded the scholarship at the end of 2019, and ongoing!

You may donate to this fund in honor of Sam Youree in two ways. Send checks or money orders written to “Bushido School of Karate” to: Keller Williams Realty, c/o Betsy Sharley, 450 St. Andrews Dr. Mboro, TN 37128 or to: Bushido School of Karate, 1820 N.W. Broad St. Mboro, TN. 37129. Please write “Sam Youree scholarship” on the “for” line. If you have questions, please contact Bill Taylor at [email protected] or Betsy Sharley at [email protected] At the end of the year, all contributors will receive an outline showing all contributions, and what was done with the money. Thank you for your help. I think Sam Youree would have been proud to contribute to on going education through the development of a fighting spirit!!
