Second Annual Ar-“Beer”-etum Wetlands & Gardens Tours
Join Oaklands Mansion’s Special Events Representative and Master Gardener, Connor Moss, for a unique experience on the grounds of Oaklands Park. Join the fun and explore this Nationally Registered historic and pre-historic site, now open as a public park. Along the pathways you will find multiple beer sampling stations provided by downtown Murfreesboro’s Liquid Smoke. Their expert staff members have chosen beer with notes that highlight the trees you will find along the way.
Self-Guided tours of Oaklands Park will be offered on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 4:00PM – 8:00PM by reservation only. Oaklands Mansion is nestled in Oaklands Park, a native tree arboretum and natural wetlands, which includes Maney Spring as well as heritage and native gardens. The self-guided grounds tour will include an overview of the arboretum, wetlands and gardens.
“Oaklands Park is downtown Murfreesboro’s largest public green space and home to a natural wetland area, a rarity for such a densely populated community,” says Connor Moss, Special Events Representative & Master Gardener at Oaklands Mansion. “The park provides a fascinating study area for both its wildlife and plant-life, and late April is wonderful time to visit.”
Admission for the grounds tour is $30.00 per person, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the maintenance and preservation of the grounds and arboretum. Reservations are required as space is limited. For tickets visit www.oaklandsmansion.org. Please be aware that the entirety of the grounds tour will take place outside and requires extensive walking. Allow 1 hour for the tour and dress appropriately for the weather.
After your grounds tour, you will be welcomed into the mansion for a self-guided tour with staff members available to answer questions. Enjoy live music in the mansion’s back yard garden from 5-7PM. My Roots Curbside Culinary will be here with their food truck. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
