Siegel High School’s Tehani Huntsman Wins MTSU Award
Siegel High School is proud to celebrate senior Tehani Huntsman, who earned Honorable Mention in two writing categories at the Middle Tennessee State University True Blue Core Writing Awards.
Her pieces, “Western Perspectives Versus Native Hawaiians’ Narratives on the Annexation” and “Our Story,” have been selected for publication in MTSU’s General Education Magazine, a publication that showcases outstanding expository, research-based, literary analysis, and multimodal writing from across the university’s general education program.
This recognition is especially impressive as Tehani’s work was selected from nominations representing all of MTSU’s general education writing courses. She completed this award-winning work under the guidance of her teacher, Honey Denson.
Tehani will be formally recognized at the MTSU English Department Awards Ceremony in April.
Congratulations to Tehani and Ms. Denson on this outstanding achievement!
