Smyrna Police Department to Host 24th Annual Citizens’ Police Academy

Smyrna Police Department is seeking applicants for its 2020 Citizens’ Police Academy. The classes meet every Thursday, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., from February 20th through April 30th.

“Smyrna Police Department is committed to the Community Policing Philosophy,” explained Chief Kevin Arnold. “Our department strives to provide exceptional service in partnership with our community. This Academy is an excellent opportunity to have open dialogue with our residents and provide education on law enforcement.”

The Citizens’ Police Academy provides participants an opportunity to gain a broad perspective of the police profession. It is designed to give citizens an overview of the department’s functions and procedures, while providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and concerns relating to the community.

Applicants can print an application or complete an online application at https://www.townofsmyrna.org/departments/police/community-programs/citizens-police-academy Applications are due Wednesday, February 19th.
