Smyrna Town Hall to Close Lobby and Modify Operational Procedures

The Town of Smyrna is closing Town Hall to the public, effective Friday, March 20, 2020. Modifications have been made to ensure citizens will continue to be served.

“Our decision-making continues to be guided by maintaining the safety of our citizens and personnel,” explained Brian D. Hercules, Town Manager. “We continue to monitor COVID-19 and CDC guidelines. Modifying our operational procedures will ensure we maintain essential functions to conduct business and deliver services to our citizens.”

Citizens that need to apply for new utilities services, apply for a transfer of service, or apply to disconnect service can do so by calling 615-355-5740. Citizens that need to pay their utilities may visit our drive-thru window or pay online, by phone, or by mail. Visit www.townofsmyrna.org to pay online; call 615-355-5705 to pay by phone; or mail your check to Town of Smyrna, 315 South Lowry Street, Smyrna, Tennessee, 37167.

The Town of Smyrna recognizes the worry, stress, and economic burden COVID-19 is placing on our citizens and we are working to mitigate this stress. We are suspending disconnecting of services, as well as late fees to our citizens that are behind on their utility payments.

Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center (SOAC) staff has developed unique opportunities to continue to engage families while the center is closed. Staff will offer programming on the SOAC Facebook page (@smyrnatnoutdooradventurecenter) at 11:00 a.m., March 24th – March 27th. Programming includes story time, animal education, a magic show, and Art with Adriana.

The Town’s meetings that are judicial, require a vote, and are essential to conducting business will be held. Those meetings include Beer Board, Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, and Town Council (excluding Town Council Workshop). We encourage any citizen that does not have an item on the agenda to consider watching this meeting on our local channel 3, via Facebook (@townofsmyrnatn), or YouTube (search Town of Smyrna). Council Chambers has been rearranged to ensure proper social distancing of those in attendance.
