Snowy Saturday Night Proves Busy for Rutherford County First Responders

A snowy Saturday night proves busy for first responders in Rutherford County.

Around 10:00 p.m., crews from Rutherford County Fire Rescue (RCFR), Almaville Volunteer Fire Department, Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department, Christiana Volunteer Fire Department, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS), and Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to an outbuilding fire on Thompson Road. When crews arrived, they discovered a large barn with heavy fire involvement. Crews extinguished the fire and fortunately no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

While crews were still operating at the scene of the barn fire, RCFR, Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department, RCEMS, and RCSO crews responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident on Big Springs Road. Due to terrain and slick conditions, Squad 52 personnel had to set up a low angle haul system to help with removing the patient. The patient was transported by RCEMS.
