Stars Swim win Division Championship
Last week, Siegel Swim wrapped up its regular season with a record of 12-4. The 12 duel meet wins shows the depth and versatility of the team and helped to win Siegel its first MTHSSA Division Championship! This is a big accomplishment for Coach Boylan, Coach Raybon and the entire team.
The focus now shifts to the Rutherford County Championships this weekend. This high energy meet brings all of the counties teams together to go head-to-head in a prelims and finals set up. The top 6 finishers in each event from the day’s prelims advance to finals at night.
Siegel is loaded with talent and looking for its highest finish in years. In this meet, every point matters. Relay events have shown to be a strength of the team and will be key to big points in the morning sessions. The team also has many individual swimmers looking to advance to the night’s finals where they compete for County Championships. As if that wasn’t enough, the team continues to add to its Region and State Meet qualifiers. The current tally sits at 8 state qualifying swims and 17 region qualifying swims and counting.
The 2023 season has been a big step forward for the team due to hard work in the pool and in dryland workouts. It is now time to see the benefits of all the hard work. Women’s prelims begin at 9am, Men’s at 1pm and finals at 6pm at Oakland High School.
