String of Stormy Days to Continue into Thursday Morning

Our string of stormy days continues Wednesday and into Thursday across Middle Tennessee.

An upper level low pressure area will slowly cross Tennessee over the next 24 to 36 hours. Plenty of warm, moisture-filled air is lying across the region, which is plenty of fuel for showers and thunderstorms.

The main threats with these storms would be gusty winds up to 60 mph, vivid lightning, small hail, and locally heavy rain, which may lead to some flash flooding.

Several bands of showers and storms are possible starting Wednesday night and continuing into the morning rush hour Thursday.

More storms are likely during the day Thursday when the Storm Prediction Center has Middle Tennessee under a marginal risk of severe weather.

The atmosphere will start to dry out Friday through this upcoming weekend, and a cold front is expected early Saturday, which will bring much better weather for the weekend.
