Susie Lee Sudduth obituary

Susie Lee Sudduth passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro,
Tennessee, following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Bennie
Kittrell Sudduth, as well as Aubrey Smith and James Morgan; her siblings Mattie Tuberville, Lela Henry,
Maggie Jones, Melzana Dunlap, Robert R. Lee, and Myrtle Smith; and her parents Melzana and Edgar
Thomas Lee. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jarman (James); grandchildren Ashley Casteel
(Josh), Lindsay Jarman, and Jim Jarman III (Danah); great-grandchildren Annabel, Avery, and Elly Casteel;
and special niece and nephews Betty Trevathan (Mike), Gary Smith (Brenda), and Michael Smith
(Barbara).

Susie was born November 24, 1932, in Vaiden, Mississippi, and retired from South Central Bell after 25
years of service. She was a faithful caregiver to her husbands; she loved animal print; she loved going to
the beauty parlor with Sue Clark and Theresa Pitts; and she loved cooking for her grandchildren and was
famous for her biscuits and gravy, cornbread dressing, and sweet potatoes. She loved her siblings and
most especially time spent with her sister Myrt and her husband Verell. In her later years she enjoyed
feeding the deer and wild turkeys in her yard, long drives, and sharing daily coffee time with her
daughter, Brenda, at her home in Murfreesboro.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Woodfin
Memorial Chapel. Reverend Steve Odom of Central Christian Church will celebrate her life with a
graveside service at 10:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery following visitation.

Her family appreciates the excellent care she received at The Rutherford Assisted Living, St. Thomas
Rutherford Hospital and Alive Hospice. Donations in her memory may be made to Alive Hospice and
Central Christian Church, both of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
