Tangerine Salon and Spa to present 4th Annual United We Style benefitting The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties
Tangerine Salon and Spa will be presenting United We Style on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at
Main Street Music, 527 West Main Street Murfreesboro. Tangerine has taken the ‘united’ to a new
level this year and teamed up with other Murfreesboro salons, What’s New, Star Stylez and Roosters,
to bring a greater awareness to the community regarding United Way. Stylists will present an elevated, real
time hair show while short stories are presented based on community involvement and life experiences
through United Way. Mark Vikingstad, a frequent performer at The Listening Room Cafe in Nashville,
will provide musical accompaniment for the show. It is an event like none other presented in the Boro and
Tangerine is excited to keep pushing the fun level for United Way!
Mark Lamb is joining United We Style as a featured storyteller as well as working with local United Way
supporters to assist in preparing their stories for the show. He hails from Sturgis, KY and resides in
New York City as a choreographer, performer and storyteller . His work has been recognized by the
New York Times as “quietly celebratory” “gently charming” and an “expression of communal joy”.
Mark is a 6 time storytelling slam competition winner at the Peabody Award winning Moth storytelling
series, and the 2016 Grand Slam champion for the state of Kentucky. Mark’s show “A Boy and His
Dolly” was sanctioned by Dolly Parton herself as an official event for the Dollywood Foundation and
has toured in many forms throughout the U.S.A and internationally. For more about Mark go to

Other featured storytellers to perform will be Delon Eckle, Health Educator of the Rutherford County
Health Department; Matthew Chase, Partner and Financial Advisor at McFarlin Financial Advisers; Tony
Woodall and Kara Kemp, The Ringmaster of Tangerine.
United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve
lives by advancing opportunities for education, health and financial stability for all. Funds raised for
United Way of RCC stay devoted to local causes ranging from disaster relief, women’s initiatives, housing,
and educational programs. Jim McCarrall, Co-Owner of Tangerine, was motivated to partner with
the United Way because “Tangerine has always realized it’s potential for being a positive impact
leader in the community, and a partnership with United Way seemed a natural fit for this grand
scale fundraising event. This partnership event has helped Tangerine put almost $50,000 back
into the community in three short years through United We Style. ”
