Third Annual SEYA Book Festival

Features More Than 40 Bestselling YA Authors

Over the past three years, the Southeastern Book Festival has established itself as a premier event that left a lasting impression on those involved by fostering a personal one-on- one experience between young adults and authors.

Bringing readers and writers together has been a hallmark for the festival.

Among the stellar list of authors are New York Times bestselling authors Adam Silvera, Samira Ahmed, and Nikki Grimes, winner of the Coretta Scott King award and the Laura Ingalls Wilder award. Nashville’s Jeff Zentner, whose “The Serpent King” and “Goodbye Days” were nominated for a Carnegie Medal. Other local authors include Tracy Barrett, Sharon Cameron, C.J. Redwine, Courtney Stevens and Kristin O’Donnell Tubb.

This year’s SEYA Book Fest takes place March 8-10, 2018 on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

For the first time, SEYA will dedicate two days – Thursday, March 8 and Friday, March 9 – for schools and students visiting the festival.

Saturday, March 10 is free and open to the public.

Organized by a group of Rutherford County and Williamson County school librarians, SEYA is designed to encourage and develop literacy in young adults by connecting them with authors in a fun setting, thereby advancing education in the community.

Among this year’s offerings are opportunities to interact with more than 40 bestselling authors during panel discussions, book signings and a writing workshop to help readers hone their skills as young writers.
The event takes place on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.
