TN National Guard Counterdrug Task Force Stashed Away Trailer

Prevention Coalition for Success announces the Tennessee National Guard Counterdrug Task Force’s “Stashed Away” trailer will be at the Boys and Girls Club in Murfreesboro on Wednesday, June 15 from 3-6pm.

Every day, parents and guardians easily miss the signs of youth substance misuse and the Stashed Away trailer teaches them what to look for. The trailer replicates a teenager’s bedroom and the potential items that can be indicators of experimentation with drugs and alcohol.” said Sarah Murfree, Prevention Coalition for Success Executive Director “We appreciate our community partners including the TN National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Rutherford County, and our volunteers for their support with this event.”

  • Who: Prevention Coalition for Success
  • What: Stashed Away Trailer Event
  • When: Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Where: Boys and Girls Club in Murfreesboro in the parking lot: 820 Jones Blvd, Murfreesboro,
TN 37129.  Google Map Link: https://goo.gl/maps/dQM2DdwMDPoShrCw7
  • Why: The trailer is a mobile display designed to simulate a “typical” teenager’s bedroom,
complete with all the paraphernalia and imagery one would expect to see but not necessarily
understand from today’s younger culture. In the room, attendees will learn the meanings of signs,
symbols and clothing, common hiding spots, and other precursors that can be tips for otherwise
unsuspecting parents. The goal is to empower adults with the knowledge and tools to make an
impact when talking to youth and to deter them from substance use and abuse.
