Town Creek Project Update: Big Changes on Broad Street

Last week, Mayor McFarland and members of the Murfreesboro City Council hosted a town hall on the downtown square to share updates on major projects across the city.

In this first video of a new series, we’re breaking down the progress on the Daylighting of Town Creek along Broad Street. Currently 12 weeks into construction, crews are completing demolition, grading, erosion control, and preparing to install stormwater piping, water lines, and underground electrical conduit. Retaining walls and creek excavation are next, with completion targeted for the end of 2026.
