Unique Rover-Linebaugh partnership provides City with mobile book drop

Linebaugh Public Library System and the Transportation Department of the City of Murfreesboro are partnering to provide library patrons with a new way to return library materials. Linebaugh has placed small return tubs on each Rover bus. Riders on any route can put LPLS materials in the tub; they will get returned to the library by the end of the day.

Russ Brashear, Assistant Transportation Director, says: “Library patrons don’t even have to be riding the Rover to use the service. They can simply return items at their nearest stop when the bus comes by.”

“As our city expands, it’s not always easy for library patrons to get materials back to their local branch,” says Linebaugh Branch Librarian Carol Ghattas. “This partnership with the Rover Service helps us all.”

“Linebaugh Library has just recently begun selling Rover tickets as well,” continues Ghattas, “So as purchasing tickets has become more convenient for Rover riders, so has returning books for Linebaugh patrons. I love to see how community services can help each other to better serve our citizens.”

Linebaugh Public Library is located at 105 W. Vine St. in Murfreesboro.
