United Communications Celebrates North Alabama Expansion with Huntsville Ribbon Cutting
United Communications formally joined the Huntsville business community on Tuesday, July 28 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber.
The leading regional fiber internet provider has a rich history in southern Middle Tennessee, dating back nearly 80 years. Today, United serves customers across Middle Tennessee—including Giles, Lincoln, and Franklin counties near the Alabama state line.
The event brought United together with local business and civic leaders and highlighted the company’s plans for North Alabama.

“As a UAH graduate, Huntsville is a place I know well and care about personally,” said Kristin Jackson, Chief Financial Officer of United Communications. “It has been exciting to watch the city grow while maintaining the collaborative spirit that makes it special. I’m proud to see United become more involved here, and I look forward to the relationships we’ll build across North Alabama.”
United’s Communities division is leading the company’s growth in North Alabama. The team works with builders, developers, and property managers to bring high-performance fiber connectivity and responsive support to both new and existing communities.
“North Alabama is growing rapidly, and reliable internet infrastructure will play an important role in supporting that growth,” said Ray Baker, Communities Manager for United Communications. “United has been just up the road for generations. We know this region, and we're excited to build lasting relationships with Huntsville-area partners and bring the same reliable fiber, responsive service, and local accountability our customers expect from us.”
Specific service areas and future projects will be announced as agreements are finalized.
“Huntsville and the surrounding region have built a strong reputation for innovation, economic development, and forward-thinking leadership,” said Dylan Gambill, Market Development Manager for United Communications. “Our team is close by, and our approach starts with showing up, listening to local partners, and earning trust community by community. We look forward to becoming a valuable long-term connectivity partner for North Alabama.”
As the company’s designated contact for the Huntsville region, Gambill will work with area builders, developers, businesses, and community representatives interested in learning more about United’s fiber services and potential partnership opportunities.
Locally owned and operated since 1947, United reaches over 130,000 homes, businesses, and important institutions with its multi-gig fiber internet service – including its next-level 8 Gig Premier plan – to meet and surpass the needs of even the most digitally-demanding households.
