United Way to Host ‘Volunteer Connect’ Launch Event
The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, in partnership with Volunteer State Bank, will host a Ribbon Cutting, presented by the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, on March 16, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. The event will be held at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce to announce the launch of United Way’s Volunteer Connect, an interactive volunteer tool available to the community.
Volunteer Connect is an innovative, user-friendly platform that allows individuals to see various ways they can make a difference in the community and nonprofits the ability to promote their volunteer needs. Upon creating a volunteer profile, the intuitive platform learns a volunteer’s passions and interests and provides ongoing recommendations of ideal service opportunities. This venue, presented by Volunteer State Bank, stands true to its name “Volunteer Connect” as it increases the potential for volunteer involvement in the community.
“I am thrilled United Way is offering this new, interactive volunteer platform to our community”, said McKenna Moore, Director of Volunteer and Strategic Engagement for the United Way. “ With the ability for all local organizations to share volunteer needs and events and community volunteers and teams to easily be matched with desired opportunities, there’s no doubt this system will revolutionize the way our community connects. I am overjoyed to have Volunteer State Bank in this venture with us, and I look forward to seeing the community’s quick embrace around Volunteer Connect.”
The Volunteer Connect software is available for all community organizations and volunteers in Rutherford and Cannon counties. Prizes donated by Volunteer State Bank will be given to the first 25 individuals who create a volunteer profile by attending the Ribbon Cutting on March 16.
